Fictional works
This is where all the magic happens off-screen! Here I post a few fictional works that I think, are worth your time to read.
To be trans and live
For the Braveolution theme of 2023, I wrote a less uplifting story than in previous years. This work came out of a feeling of mourning and despair.
3 Queers & a Question Mark
In this demo for my Master project, you play as Kasper who is still figuring out his gender identity. Through a group chat, the player will explore multiple topics about gender, identity and being yourself. With the additional vignette, the player gets to know one of the group members better.
The Weight of the Wor(l)d
A short story written for Antwerp Pride's 2021 physical magazine. It will later be published in the online version as well. With this story I wanted to show the importance and impact words can have on a person, through using magical realism that causes words to literally be imprinted on the person's body.
Queertopia
My second short story/poem written for Antwerp Pride's 15th anniversary and magazine. With this year's theme, we look into the future. What will Pride look like 15 years from now on and how does one define Queertopia?
In my story, we'll take a closer look to what Queertopia could be/is.
The Dollhouse
This is the story of a lonely doll maker who could buy almost everything in the world, except for a partner.
Tiger Lily
Man meets woman. Both are enemies, yet the man seems to have repressed feelings for her. Although he tries to bury these impossible feelings, eventually the truth catches up to him in a tragic, almost poetic way.
Children of The Sun
Two boys of different class meet on one faithful evening. Their meeting will change both their lives and the future of their city.
An unfinished, experimental story. I played with the format and fonts for extra flavour and immersion.
Carnival of Rust
Magically, the Zoltar, an animatronic of an abandoned carnival, comes to life. From within his booth, he observes the mysterious world around him.
LIFT
A short, flash fiction trilogy telling the story of a man accused of murder, the inmate he meets at the prison and the strange woman who seems to know more about the murder than expected.
